Following the confirmation of Nipah virus in a 38-year-old woman from Thachanattukara and the death of an 18-year-old girl in Malappuram, Palakkad district has imposed new restrictions. All public gatherings are banned, and face masks are now mandatory in public spaces to curb the spread. The infected woman is under treatment in Perinthalmanna, while both cases were virus-confirmed.
