Khalid Jamil has been appointed head coach of the Indian men’s football team, the AIFF announced. The former Jamshedpur FC manager is the first Indian to hold the post since Savio Medeira in 2012. Jamil replaces Spaniard Manolo Marquez, who stepped down last month after securing just one win in eight matches during his tenure.
