Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge called RSS' ideology "poison" and said the organisation should be banned. "Sardar Patel also said that one should not work for the RSS while in government service," he stated. Reacting to Kharge's remarks, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said Congress never followed Patel's footsteps and are using his name now to oppose the RSS.
