Union Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar rejected Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin's accusation that the Centre denied metro rail to Coimbatore and Madurai. Khattar said Stalin had "chosen to politicise" the issue and ignored the "magnanimous sanction" of ₹63,246 crore last year for the Chennai Metro Phase II. Khattar listed out the discrepancies in proposals for Coimbatore & Madurai.
