A 30-year-old woman with the extremely rare 'Bombay' (hh) blood group underwent a successful kidney transplant in India. The procedure, conducted at a hospital in Mumbai, is the first such recorded transplant in the country. The 'Bombay' blood group is exceptionally rare, occurring in approximately one in 10,000 Indians and only one in a million people in Europe.
