Amit Kumar, Kishore Kumar's son, revealed his father refused to bribe "someone in the ministry" to receive national award for 'Door Gagan Ki Chhaon Mein'. "He got a call from Delhi from someone in the Ministry...[saying] 'If you...give something, we can get you nominated.' My father [said], 'Why are you after my life? My film is a hit," he said.
