Former India opener Aakash Chopra remarked that KKR didn’t go as far for other Iyer, implying Shreyas Iyer, during the IPL 2025 mega auction as they did for Venkatesh Iyer. KKR bought Venkatesh for ₹23.75 crore after a bidding war with RCB. Shreyas, who led KKR to IPL victory in 2024, was acquired by PBKS for ₹26.75 crore.
