KNR Constructions surged 11% after securing a ₹4,800.6 crore short-term contract for developing and operating the Banhardih coal mining block in Jharkhand. The order was awarded by Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd, a subsidiary of NTPC, in JV with Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd (JBVNL).
