Police on Monday used a lathi charge to disperse people protesting against stone pelting at Lord Ganesh idol immersion on Sunday, allegedly by miscreants from another community in Maddur town in Karnataka's Mandya district. Communal clashes had erupted in the town after the incident, injuring eight people. Police have arrested 21 people in connection with the incident.
