BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's accusations against the government over increasing farmer suicides in Maharashtra. Poonawalla called Gandhi the "leader of hypocrisy" and said 55,928 farmers died by suicide in Maharashtra during the 15-year Congress-NCP rule (1999-2014). "Your regime's neglect caused 3,729 deaths yearly!" he said, citing NCRB data.
