New York City health officials have confirmed 112 cases of Legionnaires' disease and six deaths in Central Harlem, following an outbreak that began in late July 2025. Investigations by the Health Department identified Legionella bacteria in 12 cooling towers across 10 buildings, including a city-run hospital and a sexual health clinic.
