Lithuanian PM Inga Ruginiene said the country will shoot down the smuggler balloons crossing the border from Russia's ally Belarus, calling them "hybrid attacks". Lithuania also reportedly plans to permanently shut its border with Belarus. Lithuania had stated the balloons, which repeatedly interrupted the country's air traffic, were sent by smugglers transporting contraband cigarettes into EU.
