A local Congress worker, Lakhpat Singh Kataria (55), was shot dead by two unidentified bike-borne assailants near a DDA park in Delhi's Malviya Nagar area, police confirmed. This followed an argument, after which the accused beat Kataria with sticks. Kataria, also a property dealer, reportedly had a dispute with some local slum dwellers over a piece of land in Begumpur.
