Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla accepted the motion signed by 146 MPs for impeachment of Justice Yashwant Varma from whose house cash stash was recovered. To examine the proposal, Birla formed a panel that includes Madras HC Chief Justice Manindra Mohan, Justice Aravind Kumar and jurist BV Acharya. Earlier, Supreme Court rejected Varma's plea challenging CJI's recommendation for his removal.
