A set of bones belonging to sauropods, long-necked dinosaurs, found in Brazil's São Paulo, revealed signs of osteomyelitis, a fatal bone disease that can be caused by viruses, bacteria, fungi, or protozoa. The fossils, dating back 80 million years, came from six dinosaurs. Lack of bone regeneration suggested the disease was active at death, likely contributing to their demise.
