Eleven days before she set herself on fire over alleged inaction in her sexual harassment complaint against a professor, the student in Odisha wrote a letter to the college's internal complaints committee. She said she has lost her mental peace. "Assistant Professor Samir Kumar Sahu...is always threatening me that he will ensure I fail," she said in the letter.
