Actress Madhuri Dixit refused to work alongside Govinda when he was a newcomer, revealed producer Pahlaj Nihalani. He said, "I signed Govinda opposite Madhuri, and I appointed Rikku (Madhuri's manager) as secretary. Later, Rikku and 8–10 producers made a group against Govinda...I replaced Madhuri with Neelam Kothari." Although the film was not named, Pahlaj hinted it was 'Ilzaam' (1986).
