Madras High Court ruled that a public ground belongs to the state and not to any one religion, allowing a Hindu event, annadhanam (food distribution), in Tamil Nadu's Dindigul. The court rejected Christian community's claim that ground had historically been used for Easter celebrations. Earlier, the tahsildar had denied permission for the event, which was part of Kaliyamman temple ceremony.
