Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde on Tuesday announced ₹31,000 crore package for flood-affected farmers of the state. He said, "Approximately 60 lakh farmers in the state were affected by the floods." He added, "Farmers need help to sow Rabi crops." According to reports, crops on 68.69 lakh hectares were destroyed across Maharashtra due to heavy rainfall and floods in September.
