In a major boost to the ambitious Vadhvan port project, the Maharashtra government has approved the 120 km coastal expressway project. The plan includes construction of the Uttan-Virar Sea Link and its extension up to Vadhvan Port. This will create a 120-km access-controlled coastal expressway connecting South Mumbai with Vasai, Virar, Palghar and the upcoming deep-sea port at Vadhvan.
