Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis announced that for the "first time in the state's history", electricity rates will be reduced by 26% in phases over next five years, starting with a 10% reduction in first year. "Nearly 70% of consumers in the state use less than 100 units & they will benefit the most by a 10% tariff cut," Fadnavis said.
