The Maharashtra government approved changes to labour laws, raising daily working hours for private employees from nine to 10, and for factories and industries from nine to 12, with overtime pay. Officials said the increased hours will apply only with employee consent. "The increase in working hours...comes with more income for employees as it will be considered overtime," they added.
