After a 53-year long dispute, a court in UP's Baghpat declared on 5 February that the site in question is the Mahabharat-era 'Lakshagriha', not a graveyard and dargah of Sufi saint Sheikh Badruddin, as claimed by petitioners. The decision comes weeks after Allahabad HC allowed Hindu prayers to be offered inside the Vyas Ka Tekhana of the Gyanvapi mosque complex.
