Maharashtra government has declared paid holiday on December 2 to enable employees of different establishments, businesses and other workplaces to vote in municipal council and nagar panchayat polls. Elections to 246 municipal councils and 42 nagar panchayats will be held in first phase statewide. The government warned that failure to grant paid leave will invite action if complaints are received.
