The Maharashtra government has revised recruitment rules for state universities to ensure transparency in faculty hiring. Academic, teaching, and research (ATR) scores will carry 75% weightage, while interviews will count for 25%. The move, approved by Minister Chandrakant Patil, follows concerns over declining NIRF rankings and aims to attract qualified talent and improve accountability.
