Folk singer Maithili Thakur is likely to contest the Bihar elections from the Alinagar seat in the Darbhanga region, multiple reports speculated. She met BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde and Union MoS Nityanand Rai ahead of the poll date announcement. Her family left Bihar when Lalu Yadav came to power in 1995 and now wants to return, Tawde said.
