A study published in the Annals of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, which evaluated 430 vitiligo-affected government employees across Maharashtra, found that 87% of the respondents reported anxiety, 60.5% reported feeling depressed, and 43.3% said they had considered ending their lives. Vitiligo is a skin condition characterised by loss of skin pigmentation, resulting in white patches.
