Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu called India "closest and most trusted partner" during a two-day state visit of PM Narendra Modi. "Our collaboration spans a wide range of areas...touching the everyday lives of our citizens," he added. This comes over a year after Muizzu assumed office on an 'India Out' campaign, targeting presence of Indian defence personnel stationed in Maldives.
