Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu has invited PM Narendra Modi to be the Chief Guest for the country's Independence Day on July 26, News18 reported. Notably, ties between India and the Maldives deteriorated after a few lawmakers made derogatory remarks about PM Modi. Muizzu had also followed an "India Out" policy, but in 2024, he denied pursuing an anti-India agenda.
