Days after Deepak Gupta, a 19-year-old student preparing for the NEET medical entrance exam, was shot dead by cattle smugglers in UP's Gorakhpur, police shot dead one of the accused in an encounter. Police identified the accused as Zubair alias Kalia (26), a cattle smuggler. Police said he was carrying ₹1 lakh bounty.
