The statue of late Meenatai Thackeray at Shivaji Park, Dadar, was defaced with red oil paint on Wednesday. An accused, identified as Upendra Pawaskar, was arrested after being spotted on CCTV. The act sparked outrage among Shiv Sena (UBT) workers. UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray condemned the vandalism, warning it could incite unrest in Maharashtra.
