A 33-year-old man in Puducherry died by suicide, allegedly under pressure from private moneylenders. He was reportedly asked to pay ₹38,000 monthly interest on a ₹4 lakh loan (approximately). The deceased was a local functionary of TVK, a party founded by actor Vijay. In a suicide note recovered by the police, he appealed to Vijay to look after his family.
