A six-year-old girl in Kanpur’s Ghatampur was lured with chocolate by a local youth and taken to a secluded area behind a shrine. When she resisted his attempt to rape her, he stuffed leaves into her mouth and struck her head repeatedly with a brick. The girl was found unconscious in a pool of blood and remains in critical condition.
