Monowara Bewa's son, whose Habeas Corpus petition the Supreme Court has agreed to hear next week, has claimed that her mother has been missing since the Assam Police detained her on May 24. The detention took place during a crackdown on individuals declared foreigners by the state's Foreigners Tribunal (FT). Bewa was declared a foreigner by an FT in 2016.
