Manipur Governor Ajay Bhalla requested people from all communities to surrender looted and illegally held weapons within seven days effective today and assured no punitive action will be taken if weapons are returned within time. "Thereafter...action will be taken for possession of...weapons," he stated. The state has witnessed violence between Meitei and Kuki communities for nearly two years.
