Using data from China's Mars rover Zhurong, scientists have uncovered evidence that an ocean once covered parts of the planet's northern hemisphere around 3 billion years ago. In the journal 'PNAS', researchers stated they have identified beach deposits from the long-lost Martian ocean. Using ground-penetrating radar, the rover scanned 100 metres beneath the surface, the journal added.
