Mattel has launched its first-ever Barbie doll with type 1 diabetes in collaboration with the diabetes research and advocacy organisation Breakthrough T1D in a bid to foster inclusivity among children. The new Barbie features a Continuous Glucose Monitor to track her blood sugar and an insulin pump. The blue polka dot dress refers to global symbols that represent diabetes awareness.
