Meghalaya has started land acquisition for a high-speed corridor in East Khasi Hills via NHIDCL. The route will pass through 7 villages, including Mawpdang and Mawryngkneng. Locals are warned not to build without deputy commissioner approval, as no compensation will be paid for unauthorised structures built after the notice.
