Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma launched 125 community centres in Garo Hills under the MegLIFE project to boost rural income and forest care. Each centre costs ₹24 lakh. The Japan-funded project supports forest restoration and livelihood in 500 villages. Activities include nurseries, plantations, and water projects, with help from SHGs and village groups.
