On Day 2 of the Shillong Literary Festival 2025, CM Conrad K Sangma urged making writing a cultural norm and announced the expansion of the Chief Minister’s Research Grant to support 75 scholars studying Khasi, Garo, and Jaintia tribes. Cultural investments of ₹133 crore and Ward’s Lake upgrades were also highlighted, alongside book launches, literary talks, and performances.
