Meta is facing backlash for allegedly using "back-to-school" pictures of schoolgirls to promote its social media platform, Threads. This came to light when a 37-year-old man said his Instagram feed featured posts of minor uniformed girls with their faces visible, giving off "an aspect of sexualisation", the Guardian reported. Meta allegedly used the images without consent of the girls' parents.
