Meta must face trial in a US Federal Trade Commission lawsuit seeking the social media giant's break-up, a US judge ruled. The lawsuit claims that Mark Zuckerberg-led Meta, then known as Facebook, overpaid for Instagram in 2012 and WhatsApp in 2014 to crush emerging competition in social media. Facebook bought Instagram for $1 billion and paid $19 billion for WhatsApp.
