A meta-analysis of already available data has confirmed presence of microplastics in human bone tissue. These particles, less than 5 mm, were detected in areas such as bone marrow. Researchers warn that these particles can cause disruptions in osteoclasts, cells that support bone growth and repair, leading to weakened bone structures and making them more susceptible to deformities and fractures.
