Physicists from MIT performed an "idealised version" of double-slit experiment using ultracold atoms and a single photon to prove the dual nature of light. The experiment was at the centre of a 1927 debate between Albert Einstein and Niels Bohr. The team confirmed that Einstein's belief that a photon would leave a trace when passing through a slit is wrong.
