Union Home Ministry announced that civil defence exercise under Operation Shield, which was originally scheduled for May 29, will now be conducted on May 31. The exercise, which includes mock drills and blackouts, will be carried out in J&K, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana and Chandigarh. The ministry said it released emergency funding to plug gaps noticed during first exercise.
