Mondays uniquely drive long-term biological stress, regardless of whether a person is employed or retired, according to a study published in Journal of Affective Disorders. People who reported anxiety on Monday had 23% elevated cortisol levels in hair samples up to two months later, study stated. It also noted that Mondays are linked to a 19% spike in heart attacks.
