Large fights caused the Monterey County Fair to end early. However, rumours of a shooting at the venue that initially surfaced were unfounded. Fair organisers stated, "The decision was made out of an abundance of caution, prioritising the well-being of our guests, staff and community." No one was injured in the fights.
