Researchers at US' National Institute of Standards and Technology have created the most accurate atomic clock yet, capable of measuring time to the 19th decimal place. This 'quantum logic clock' uses quantum computing techniques that pair an electrically charged aluminium ion with a magnesium ion. The clock is also 2.6 times more stable than any other ion clock, scientists said.
