Ahead of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan alleged that women aren't safe in Jharkhand as the law and order situation in the state has "crumbled". "Our mothers and sisters aren't safe in Jharkhand...Over 7,400 rape cases [were] reported in the state in last five years," he said. "The Hemant Soren-led JMM government is sleeping," Shivraj added.
