A recent study found that around 27 types of oral bacteria and fungi are linked to over three-fold increase in pancreatic cancer risk. The study analysed saliva samples from 1,22,000 healthy adults over nine years. It highlighted the importance of good oral hygiene and suggested that oral microbiota could serve as biomarkers for early cancer screening and prevention.
